«Proxecto Trasno» (http://www.trasno.net/), the Galician Free Software Translators Group, announces the upcoming Iberian Minorized Languages Translators Meeting to be held on 4th and 5th of October 2014 (Saturday and Sunday) at Santiago de Compostela (Spain), which will be assisting the following minorized languages translators groups from the Iberian peninsula: Proxecto Trasno, SoftAstur, Librezale, SoftAragonés and SoftCatalá.

Among the attendees there are many members of the mentioned translation groups, and also some members from other translation groups outside of the Iberian peninsula, like Pascal Chevrel from the French Mozilla community. Also are expected to come several people interested in software translation from all Galicia.

During the meeting there will be debates and knowledge will be shared among diverse topics, all of them related to free software translation, specifically about the following projects:

  • Mozilla
  • LibreOffice and Apache OpenOffice
  • Debian GNU/Linux

There also are several workshops/round tables on the following topics:

  • Terminology in translation
  • CAT programs and resources for translation
  • Translation memories
  • Translation group structure and community environment

The complete schedule is publicly available.

We openly invite anyone interested to join us, regardless of their belonging to any of the aforementioned translation groups or software projects.

This event is part of the activities that Proxecto Trasno committed to perform after signing an agreement with Axencia para a Modernización Tecnolóxica de Galicia (AMTEGA), and that are included in the 2014 Free Software Activities Plan of Xunta de Galicia.
